Water from hydrocarbon combustion? How is that possible?
Water and Carbon Dioxide are the end products of the complete combustion of organic compounds, including fossil fuels. Combustion occurs in the presence of Oxygen, as when one lights a match. The simplest of these is the hydrocarbon, Methane, or cooking gas. For every mole of Methane burned, 2 moles of water form. Likewise, 4 moles of water form from burning 1 mole of Propane gas, and 5 moles of water form from burning 1 mole of Butane gas. The higher the octane, the more water forms. All fuels and wax candles produce water and CO2.
Propane C3H8 + 5 O2 = 3 CO2 + 4 H2O
Hi Octane C8H18 + 12.5 O2 = 8 CO2 + 9 H2O

Water Condensation from Hydrocarbon Combustion
Xybex Water R&D, Inc. works with Engineering firms which specialize in Gas to Liquids (GTL) technologies. Our objective is to miniaturize the design of Fischer-Tropsch reactors to build scaled down models which can be loaded on spaceships. These reactors will make Propane, Ethane, Butane and higher octane gases. Since water vapor and carbon dioxide are produced from burning these fuels, air conditioners, cooling coils and dehumidifiers can be used to condense the vapors into water droplets. All FT fuels are clean burning fuels which is why the water recovered from combustion of FT fuels is pure water. Xybex also advocates building ethanol and methanol plants on lunar bases.
Lunar restaurants, hotels and other businesses will be the primary market for Propane and Butane sales. Likewise, bottled water and liquid beverages will generate substantial income for businesses.

Propane and Butane Synthesis
To make Propane, Butane, or any other hydrocarbon such as hi-octane gasoline, you'll have to understand the Fischer-Tropsch process.
